About the terracotta - Di Cao Qing is a type of Zi Ni (Purple Clay) from the Huang Long Mountain (Yellow Dragon Mountain) region in Yixing. Due to sedimentation, Di Cao Qing is prized as the best out of the three types of Zi Ni. It is highly sought after throughout history.
Di Cao Qing clay can hold high temperatures. It is kiln fired at approximately 1180°C. The completed teapot has a majestic purple colour with a subtle cyan tint. Its texture is delicate and fine, yet simple and clean. When brewing tea, Di Cao Qing clay teapots works in perfect harmony with the tea to bring out long-lasting flavour and tea rhyme.
Di Cao Qing clay is suitable for brewing Puerh, lightly roasted oolongs, and green tea.
