Ku Ding One Leaf Tea is extremely astringent in taste. Some tea lovers would blend Ku Ding to add astringency to the tea. Usually one piece of leaf offers enough flavour for a whole pot of tea, maybe that is one of the reasons why it is called One Leaf Tea.
Besides for the astringent flavour, it is also used by herbalist as a remedy for lowering blood pressure; enhancing blood circulation; lowering cholesterol and weight loss. We carry only the top quality and of course from the best origin. It is important if you drink for the taste and for it’s health benefits. Remember, only one leaf per pot!
Oolong tea has a very long history in Chinese tradition and comes in a wide variety of flavours and textures. Treasure Green sources its premium Oolong from the famous Wuyi Mountain in Fujian province, where the tea is fully hand processed and carefully dried over charcoal for multiple days.
This slow dehydration brings out a sweet and persistent aroma in each brew. Our selection features both vibrant, fresh Oolong as well as rich, aged Oolong teas.
Treasure Green carries organic options across a few categories of tea, including Green, White, Black, Jasmine, and Pu erh. Organic farms are restricted to using only USDA approved farming agents which result in premium tea that contributes to sustainable farming and healthy living.
Pu erh Tea (Pu'er or Pu-erh) 普洱茶 is the most exquisite art of tea drinking. It is a traditional Chinese specialty that is produced in the Yunnan province where the land grows wild tea trees that are hundred to thousands of years old. The production of this variety involves steaming and pressing the leaves, then allowing time for full fermentation and oxidation of the tea, which can take up to several months.
Comparative to fine wine, Pu-erh teas have a collectible value which increases over time, as the flavours and textures of the tea evolve and become more complex. Treasure Green offers a rare selection of Pu-erh with teas from the 1970’s.
Cooked/Shou refers to full fermentation of the tea leaves, which is then pressed into cakes, bricks, or tou chas, to be cellared for post fermentation. This time will allow the Pu-erh to become rich, earthy, and woody in taste.
Treasure Green offers our oldest Cooked/Shou Pu-erh aged for over 40 years.
Yellow Tea 黃茶 is a rare tea and dates back over 4,000 years in China. In the past, this high quality tea was often reserved for Chinese Emperors' very own consumption and served only at the Imperial Court. Yellow teas are a rare category with the best produced in Hunan.
Smaller amounts are produced in Anhui, Zhejiang, Sichuan and Jiangxi.
