Deep in the mountains of Yunnan, where ancient tea trees have flourished for centuries, begins the fascinating story of Pu-erh — a tea unlike any other.

Long ago, tea from Yunnan travelled across rugged mountain trails along the legendary Ancient Tea Horse Road. Pressed into cakes for easier transport, these teas endured long journeys through changing climates and conditions. Over time, tea merchants and drinkers came to appreciate how the leaves could gradually transform, developing deeper, mellower, and more complex flavours.

This was the enduring tradition behind Raw Pu-erh (Sheng 生普) — a tea whose character can evolve naturally with the passage of time.

Centuries later, a new chapter unfolded.

Inspired by the treasured character of aged Pu-erh, tea makers in Yunnan developed a controlled fermentation technique during the 1970s, known as Wo Dui (渥堆). This innovative process allowed tea to develop the rich, mellow qualities associated with mature Pu-erh in a considerably shorter time.

And so, Cooked Pu-erh (Shou 熟普) emerged — a different expression of the same remarkable tea tradition.

One shaped by gradual natural aging, the other by the ingenuity of tea craftsmanship.

昔日，雲南茶葉沿著古老的茶馬古道，翻山越嶺，運往遠方。為方便運輸與保存，茶葉被壓製成餅。在漫長的歲月中，人們逐漸發現，茶葉經自然陳化後，香氣與滋味會產生微妙而迷人的變化，茶湯亦漸趨醇和，形成生普洱歷久彌新的獨特魅力。
