Yu Qian refers to a type of Longjing tea, renowned for its distinctive flavour and production process. "雨前 Yu Qian" indicates the time of harvest, typically beginning in spring when the early rains nourish the tea bushes, cleansing the tea leaves. During this period, the tea leaves are tender and vibrant green due to the moisture from the rain, resulting in a fresher taste.

Longjing tea, one of China's most famous top quality green teas, is beloved for its elegant shape, rich aroma, and refreshing taste. "雨前龍井" earns its name from being harvested just before the spring rains, considered a high-grade variety of this esteemed tea.

Longjing tea is further divided into Ming Qian Longjing and Yu Qian Longjing. Friends who enjoy Longjing tea are aware of the saying that "Yuqian is top-grade, Mingqian is precious".
