The Qi Lan variety was first introduced in the '90s from the town of Ping He in Ming Nan (Southern Fujian). It has since been widely cultivated in the Wuyi mountain region, making Qi Lan one of the most notable varieties of Wuyi Cliff Oolong.
Qi Lan Oolong is known for its tightly knotted and uniform, plump leaves. Its midrib/stem is thick and sturdy. The leaves are deep brown in colour with a luscious olive-green tint. When brewed, Qi Lan Oolong yields a deliciously full-bodied, fragrant, golden-orange tea liquor.
