Osmanthus 江西 金桂花
Osmanthus 江西 金桂花
The flowers grow in Jiangxi, China and emit a sweet, pungent scent. Traditionally, dried osmanthus flowers are infused in a black or green tea, but oolong and white tea bases can also be used to create different flavors.
Osmanthus is also known to preserve and was widely used to preserve food and in deserts. One of the most favorite desserts is the Osmanthus Jelly, the ancient concubines would have this dessert daily as it is believe that the osmanthus can preserve their beauty.
Recently osmanthus lovers are using it to mix in salad dressings to create a citricy note. For me, besides enjoy it in a cup of tea, I also enjoy it be sprinkled on rice.
