Tasting Notes: The first infusion opens with a light and clean profile, showing gentle cedar wood notes with a signature hint of smokiness characteristic of Xiaguan teas. The liquor is smooth and refreshing with a bright, lively character. As the leaves open around the third infusion, a mild astringency emerges, adding structure and depth to the tea. Subsequent brews become more expressive, with a balanced interplay of wood, light smoke and subtle sweetness. The finish is clean, crisp and pleasantly lingering.
This 2006 Xiaguan Raw Pu-erh Tuo is a Grade A (甲級) production, carefully compressed into the classic 100g tuo shape and individually packaged. Xiaguan is one of the most established and respected producers of tuo-style Pu-erh, known for teas with strong character, excellent aging potential, and distinctive regional identity. Over time, these teas develop greater smoothness while maintaining their structure and intensity.
Xiaguan raw Pu-erh is traditionally appreciated for its ability to support digestion, refresh the palate, and provide a clean, invigorating tea experience. Its balanced strength and clarity make it suitable for both daily drinking and long-term aging.
