Gracefully hand painted with a delicate lotus design, this elegant Lotus Gaiwan embodies the timeless beauty of traditional Chinese porcelain. Soft washes of green and blush pink create an ink painting effect that feels light, fluid, and refined, while the subtle brown edging beautifully frames the piece with understated elegance. Every brushstroke reflects the artistry of skilled craftsmen, making each gaiwan a unique work of art.
Crafted from fine Jingdezhen white porcelain, the gaiwan is fired three times at temperatures reaching 1380°C, producing exceptional durability, a smooth luminous finish, and colours that remain vibrant over time. The decoration is created using a traditional underglaze technique, allowing the artwork to become permanently fused beneath the glaze for lasting beauty and resistance to everyday wear.
The classic three-piece design carries deep symbolism within Chinese tea culture. The lid represents Heaven, the bowl represents Humanity, and the saucer represents Earth, together expressing the harmony between Heaven, Earth, and Humanity. A comfortably rounded lid knob provides excellent control, while the gently flared rim allows for smooth, precise pouring, making this gaiwan both elegant and highly functional.
